The role includes a mix of support to space projects and support to R&D through out the development lifecycle for software running on hard real-time OS. Responsibilities

Although the support is at software level, it is the very early phase of system requirement and architecture, where the software trade-offs are done. The job can be seen as having three components: 1. includes modelling some system-software behavior such as FDIR in modelling language allowing model checking such as SDL, or Esterel. 2. software development, test readiness reviews, qualification review, but also support to the avionics qualification review seen from software. 3. system software co-engineering and automation of the life cycle, in particular on component based techniques, application of the concept of MDA to on-board software using the technologies of frameworks, features, aspects.

Qualifications and Experience

An university degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is necessary. The candidates should be familiar with modern software engineering practices. Knowledge of real-time embedded systems is necessary. Software practical experience, real-time software, design methods, cross compilers (GNU), programming languages C and Ada.

The work does not include the development of robotic algorithms, but requires interfacing with robotics experts.

Knowledge in formal methods, in particular behavioural with model checking, and Esterel tools is an asset.

Experience in system/software requirements, trade-off, modelling of embedded systems is an asset.
